Elementary School Overview

Welcome to the Whitefield Academy Elementary School!

My name is Susan Kunsman, and I am the Elementary Principal. It is my goal to know each and every student and to partner with their parents and teachers in their education.

Whitefield Academy seeks to honor God in all that we do. If you visit us you will see approximately 300 students in grades K-5 actively learning in well-structured classrooms that are managed by fully certified teachers who love their students and are very dedicated servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. We strive to provide an education that is academically excellent and spiritually vital. The Scriptures will be taught in a daily Bible class, as well as infused in the instruction received in all other subjects. We challenge our students to become servant leaders, to be honest and trustworthy, and to love and respect others.

The students in grades K-5 are in self-contained classrooms with one main teacher. We have three sections of most grade levels. We maintain a class size of twenty students or less. The main emphasis in Kindergarten and first grade is learning to read. The students also receive instruction in Bible, math, science, social studies, writing, and Spanish. The special areas for this age group are computer, music, art, PE, library and Spanish.

In grades 2-5, the students have a well-balanced program of reading, writing, grammar, math, science, history, Bible, and Spanish. These students have one 45 minute session of PE, computer , art , Spanish, and music instruction per week. The students in grades 3-5 can also participate in the Elementary Chorus program. In 4th grade the students can join the orchestra and in 5th grade the can join the band.
