Each year the eighth grade students of Whitefield Academy travel to Washington, D.C and Williamsburg, Virginia. This chaperoned trip takes our students on an historical tour of our nation's birth. As they tour they are able to see the pervasiveness of Scripture and Judeo-Christian values that were central to the creation of this great nation.
Students tour Arlington National Cemetery, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Washington Monument, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt Memorials, the Vietnam War Memorial, our nation's capitol, Mt. Vernon, Williamsburg, Jamestown and the Simthsonian museums. Students are guided through these areas by local experts as well as our own History Department chairman.
Aside from the history involved, students have opportunity to pray for our national leaders. They engage in Bible studies that focus on leaders and leadership. They also have ample opportunity to forge deep and lasting friendships with their fellow classmates. It is not uncommon to hear alumni of Whitefield Academy fondly remember their "DC Trip".
